Milton H. Tolman passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones
on March 23, 2022.
Milt, as his friends called him, was born on April 8, 1930 to Lionel and
Rita Tolman in Greeley, Colorado.
He attended the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. This is where he
met his first wife Betty Jean Smith with whom he had 2 children. Upon
graduating the Naval Academy in 1953 with a Degree in Mechanical
Engineering, Milton attended Submarine School in New London, CT and the
Naval War College in Newport, RI. He served as a Lieutenant Commander on

After completing his military service, Milt went to work using his
Engineering Degree in the Steam Turbine and Pump field, which he enjoyed.
He finished his career as Director of Asia and Pacific for Ingersoll
Dresser Pump Division.
Shortly after Milt retired, he married his current wife, Ilona. They
enjoyed traveling the world to exotic places such as Australia, New Zealand,
Hawaii and all over Europe. They then built their life in Naples, Florida
for the next 23 years. Recently, they made the decision that they wanted to
be close to their family and moved in with their daughter and grandson. Milt
kept saying “We are the only people that move north for the winter.”
Milt lived a long and wonderful life. He brought joy and love to all that
knew him. He is leaving a void in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
