James Rudd Botten, CDR, son of Harvey and Jane Botten of MD, was a 1953 Graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD. He received his M.B.A.from Sacred Heart University. He proudly served as a Commander in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves for many years including the time period of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.  James retired as an engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft after 30 years of service. He was spiritual and was an active member of the Trinity Episopcal Church in Trumbull, CT.  He will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet Berg Botten and his sister Marylou Sacks.

Survivors include his two devoted children Deirdre Kachala and Craig Botten and his wife Deborah, his loving sister Nancy Bowser of MD, his two cherished grandchildren Cameron and Dustin Botten and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. (Masks are required) at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT. Interment in Nichols Village Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m.  until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org)
